I wish to express my support for amending the regulations concerning firearms in the state forests of Virginia to allow the holders of concealed carry permits to possess handguns in these areas.  I desire to see as much uniformity as possible in the law and having a permit that is valid in certain areas and not valid in others is often confusing and can place a citizen in the position of violating a law without realizing it.  The federal government has adopted this policy for national parks and therefore it seems only fitting that Virginia should follow suit.
