As a student, I can honesty say that students don't really care about what we talk about, only the parents do. English classes in particular talk and debate about controversial issues and the students go right along with it. Before you can legally vote, shook is the one place in which your opinion matters. In my 11 years of public education I have never seen or heard of a students who didn't want to hear or talk about a controversial topic. If teachers are required to alert parents before talking about controversial issues then no teachers are going to do it and then English classes and debate teams will have nothing.
i support teachers being allowed to talk about controversial topics without the consent of parents.
