REJECT!

The wording in this amendment is too vague to be enacted successfully and meaningfully. This should be handled at the county or district level, not the state level. Most school districts have practices in place to address parental concerns about a text or assigned book. State-wide action on this matter is not needed. Instead, encourage districts to openly communicate with parents about the curriculum, and if "sensitive" materials are an issue, districts should work with teachers and parents at a district level to create lists of acceptible alternatives for students who would like to opt out.
