Yes, parents always have a right to know what is being taught. They can have a copy of the text, but to require teachers to hold parents' hands is too much. If parents seek to know more, as an adult they need to inform themselves. It is not the teacher's job to teach the kids and the parents. Parents can discuss it with the instructor if they feel it's warranted. Do not create additional, unnecessary work for the already overworked teachers.
