Regulations Governing Local School Boards and School Divisions [8 VAC 20 ? 720] OPPOSE
I oppose this amendment. The school district has provided parents, the community, and other shareholders access to the district's curriculum. I provide a syllabus with instructional materials I will be using during the year, which parents and students sign and return after reading and approving the content. If I choose a selection other than what is provided by the district, I get the approval of my administrator, and send home a letter and permission slip for parents to sign if they want their child opted out of using the selected content. I am a professional who puts the interests of my students first.
