Notifying parents of possible controversial books scheduled for classroom use and permitting a reasonable opt-out procedure seems all too little to expect of our first class educational secondaryl education system.  The examples of the level of vulgarity/depravity I saw would not stand the light of day if published in a public forum.  Surely we can accomplish any reasonable educational objective with material that does not drag teachers and students into the gutter!
