The proposed amendment is simply dangerous. The wording of “sensitive” and “controversial” is deliberately and ridiculously vague enough to include almost anything. Regardless of the intention, the effect of this rule would place an unreasonable, unmanageable, and stifling burden on the teacher. How is the school supposed to react to conflicting opinions of “sensitivity”?
If there are individual concerns, the parent can take the initiative to raise them with the teacher, the administration, and if not satisfied, file a challenge following accepted SB policies. Let the professionals do their job and resist the temptation to appease a few people by imposing a blanket of regulated mediocrity.
