| Description | This regulation will contain the minimum standards for juvenile residential facilities covering program operations, health care, personnel, facility safety, and physical environment. It will contain additional provisions for halfway houses, family group homes, and independent living programs. The current requirements for these facilities are contained in 6VAC35-51 and 6VAC35-140. This regulation will incorporate those provisions deemed appropriate and necessary after a comprehensive review. |

| Goals of Regulation | To review existing regulatory requirements applicable to juvenile residential facilities and combine in a single document all regulatory provisions currently contained in 6VAC35-51 and 6VAC35-140 deemed appropriate and necessary after a comprehensive review. The regulation will be reviewed and modifications proposed to ensure that it most effectively and efficiently supports its statutory purpose. |
