Goals of Regulation (i) Whether the notices continue to protect public health by preventing disease outbreaks attributable to shellfish contamination;

(ii) Whether Virginia's shellfish industry maintains its reputation nationally as reliably safe and free of contamination and Virginia shellfish continues to be shipped in interstate markets; and

(iii) Whether waters at marina facilities that are condemned to shellfish harvesting are opened quickly upon a finding that contamination has been abated.
