I am a member of the board of directors of Community Living Alternatives. We are responsible for the care of the vulnerable adults in our program. We hire and train excellent staff - many of whom have been with us for decades. But I worry because some of our capable staff members are compelled to hold down three jobs in order to make ends meet. If someone must hold down three jobs to put bread on the table, it increases the likelihood of their making a costly error. Our residents are obviously safer if we can prevent errors - and it's our job to keep them as safe as possible. So, in order better to protect the vulnerable adults whom we serve, please increase support for Community-Based Services. Thank you for considering this important issue.
