Minimum Wage

I have worked for this Personal Care Agency for years, and I am now seeing it be pulled in so many directions all because of the minimum wage increase. We were paying our aides $7.50 an hour and with the increase to $9.50 Medicaid only seen fit to increase our wage from them to  .92 cents. Even though we are thankful for any increase, however this is not enough to fully operate the company, not only do we have less people working, we are losing hours because some cannot work the hours given because of the wage increase and they are already working hours that social security allows them, the money left over after paying our aides is not enough to pay the office staff or nurses and still pay bills, taxes, overhead expenses, as well as many other expenses that a business occurs. This is not fair, not fair to a company who is helping our elderly and making sure they get to stay home instead of nursing homes, not fair to our employees who are worried that they may be out of a job, and most of all not fair to the owner who has been in buisness for 18 years, who is worring her self sick about all of the above, worried that she is going to have to let go staff, and patients who need this service and job so bad. With all of this being said, I feel like some of this money should go to the small companies who are struggling to keep it all together, especially when we never had any say in it to begin with, there has to be a solution other than losing everything.
