Training doctors to work with special needs persons

It would be to the benefit of the special needs person if the medical provider actually knew about ASD, PDD, etc,,,.  When looking for a new PCP, office staff will say that the PCP has experience with special needs people, make the appointment;  on the first visit, you can tell that they don;t have the experience because they don't address the patient even though they are sitting in their presence.
