GLI: 11 VAC 5-60-20 Request for Voluntary Exclusion - Part 1

Key:   Recommended Modifications and Additional Rule Text    Removals  Movement

11 VAC 5-60-20 Request for Voluntary Exclusion

GLI Recommendations

  1. An individual may have his or her name placed on the voluntary self-exclusion list by submitting a request in the form and manner required by this section.

As the voluntary exclusion list is controlled by the Board, GLI recommends this requirement indicate initial responsibility of the application form to the Board. GLI recommends

  1. Having the means to apply for temporary voluntary exclusion flow through the Department’s website as a central location since the Department will be maintaining the list.
  2. Updates to focus more on temporary voluntary exclusion since 11 VAC 5-60-20.C focuses on life-time voluntary exclusion.
  3. Moving the last sentence of 11 VAC 5-60-20.B to 11 VAC 5-60-20.I
  4. Moving last two sentences of 11 VAC 5-60-20.C to 11 VAC 5-60-20.J.
  1. An individual requesting placement on the voluntary self-exclusion list for a period of time sports betting and account-based lottery games offered over the internet shall submit, either online or in person, through his or her Internet gaming account, a completed request for internet voluntary self-exclusion as required by this chapter. Notwithstanding the above, if an individual requests to be placed on the Internet self-exclusion list for life, such request shall be made in person at Department headquarters or any other location specified by the Department.
  2. An individual requesting placement on the voluntary self-exclusion list for life list shall submit, in person, a completed request for voluntary self-exclusion as required by this chapter. Any individual submitting a voluntary exclusion request for life shall be required to present valid identification credentials containing his or her signature and either a photograph or a general physical description. Any individual requesting voluntary exclusion for life pursuant to this subchapter may be required to have his or her photograph taken by the Department upon submission of the request.
