Please vote in favor of the Emergency Temporary Standard/Emergency Regulation 16 VAC 25-220 by the Safety and Health Codes Boar.  

 

When non-essential businesses across the country closed down with the arrival of the corona virus, it became evident what jobs were truly essential, those without which society would collapse: workers from across the food supply chain (as well as those in health-care professions).  Slaughterhouse work is dangerous, and it is an essential service for all consumers.  

 

Workers from across the Commonwealth need enforceable protections, both for their own health and the public health at large during this pandemic and beyond. These common-sense standards are essential to both essential workers and the vibrant business community of Virginia--because without these essential workers, we will be unable to have a vibrant business community.
