Protect Patients

I implore the state not to implement the ER Utilization Program. Such legislation would cripple many of the ER's in our state and particularly those in urban centers where medicaid use is higher. Allowing such a policy to pass would do nothing but bolster the grip that insurance companies have on our health care system while making it more difficult and dangerous for individuals to navigate our already over-complicated insurance policies.

With everything going on in the world, we must take this time of turmoil and use it to enact positive change that will promote the long-term health of those that have historically and undeniably suffered at the hands of an unequal system. I urge you to take the time to consider the impact of such a policy. If you do, I think it will become clear that allowing such a policy to come to fruition is a grave step in the wrong direction.
