Alex was placed in a group home by his parents.  In 2017 the group home Kentwell in Louden County decided it was too difficult to take time to assist the man to eat and wanted a feeding tube placed in him so they didn't have to be bothered with him.  When his doctor and family refused Kentwell dumped the man in a hospital where he was released to a nursing home after being held in the hospital for over 30 days simply because the group home didn't want to feed him.  Alex had lived in his prior placement for 23 years of his life and had friends there. 

Parents who want to provide care and continue community for their children are being denied that chance when DMAS and the federal government enacts regulations that make it impossible to continue to use a service.  CDCN is impossible to use now because to use DMAS's own words "would be sufficiently burdensome to prompt the elimination of the service."  This is what is happening.  EVV is so burdensome few can hire staff now, for low pay, no benefits, to be tracked like a dog and monitored on their smart phone if they have one.
