Several problems with EVV, its quite costly for small home health agencies which is causing some hardship. The software we currently have has multiple issues on a daily basis with aides not being able to clock in or out, GPS locations can't be determined, some areas where patients live do not have good cell service, nor does the patients have landlines or internet service. The system isn't able to bill all medicaid HMO's yet. The state should file for an extension at least through the remainder of this year to allow for these companies to provide better capabilities for service and workout all technical issues. Also, many older patients do not understand the functionality of having to electronically sign at the end of each shift. The state should provide devices for the patient's homes or at least reimbursement for devices that have to be put in the patient's homes for aides to use to clock in and out of if they do not currently have a method.
