living in proverty because of disabled children

Megan and her sister Sarah both have intellectual disabilities.  My husband and I do not and we have no reason to believe both of our girls would.  There is no history of it in our family.   My oldest daughter cannot be left alone.  She has moderate intellectual disability and type 1 diabetes.   She doesn't understand why she can't eat certain things; has no understanding of how to treat her diabetes; and doesn't understand how to safely navigate the world.  Megan is physically healthy and only has mild ID.  She works in an enclave at skilled nursing facility 4 hours a week and is very proud of her job.  She still needs help in most areas of life.  We get a few hours of respite and that is all their CCC+ company decided they could get.  We live in poverty because my husband left.  I suppose I have the option of walking away from them.  Megan the city CSB would probably leave in a homeless shelter to be sexually taken advantage of.  Sarah would problem be left in some supervised group home.  Since she was even sexually molested in public schools it is likely to happen again.  Everyone heard of that day support near DC where a staff member was having sex/raping all the female clients and two had babies by him;  DBHDS found the center didn't do anything wrong letting a male staff take numerous female clients into the restroom to rape them time and time again.  (from some reports the guy raped ever single female client in the program that DMAS paid for)…   it was just since society places most vulnerable young female girls on birth-control.. only the two who had parents who cared got pregnant.   Anyway, again we live in a crap apartment;  our car just broke down so we don't have one; IDK how I am getting to work tomorrow.  CDPA before EVV was a wonderful service.  Now that service is unusable.  you left many families with the alternative of giving up work and sitting home …  or sending a child to be abused but a DBHDS placement.
