What I'm thinking is, could this crap be a way to get care workers to quit, causing the consumer directed model of service to fail??? Wasn't the app designed or funded by agencies??? Wasn't the evv legislation lobbied for by agencies and large corporate nursing homes? Could this be the real purpose of evv???
At first I thought the purpose of evv was to make sure handicapped persons could not give a care worker an extra hour of pay for being willing to come over for an emergency etc. And actually, if you get say 40 or 50 hours of service per week, and you have some episode at 2am, and an aid is willing to come over right away to help you for an hour, you always should have had the option to give them some extra pay. Just saying. Cause to get woke up at 2am, dress, drive a half hour or 45 minutes, help for an hour, then drive home, really should get a little extra. I'm different than the average care giver, I have other income etc, I'm not desperate, but I can FEEL for the single mom etc trying to make ends meet from week to week. Evv steals your power as a boss to make these kind of trade offs. Of course officials don't know how the real world works.
