locking us up again

so on the Yahoo message group ran by a DMAS funded advocate shared someone just posted basically that there is no reason for us to be upset over EVV and to stop advocating against it... If we hate it that badly to give up our waivers and let someone who will appreciated them have them. I don't think that person understands what we are up against. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Allegheny_Lunatic_Asylum

this is where they used to gather up people and house them similar to the people getting DD waiver. I know more about WV history of it and have relatives that were gathered up and court ordered to the state school for the deaf, etc... it was the current state law at the time. Nothing the parents could do.. there children were just gathered up and taken... that is what we are up against.

"Self advocacy means people speaking for themselves. Supporting people to speak for themselves is a necessary part of recognizing people with disabilities as being full citizens, not devalued "second-class" citizens."

EVV takes away our rights.  EVV hurts us.  EVV criminalizes being disabled.  EVV is unjust and breaks our civil rights.  EVV is making attendant care unusable.  How is this different then wearing an ankle monitor?
