The impossible contradiction. Numerous people getting waiver and cdpa do not have smart devices or cannot get the free Medicaid device. The reasons vary but mostly because the process to get the free device is difficult if someone living at the address got the free device 5-10 years ago a new device won’t be given even if the client wasn’t the one living there and the device is inactive. Then there is the whole thing that most of these free device companies really just want and encourage you to upgrade to a paid service. Medicaid rules already keep clients poor so they can’t pay for it. Attendants are of low income and can’t add this app to their device and suck data and battery power and track then all day. Federal government said they won’t pay for the device or service WiFi but they also say the consumer shouldn’t have to purchase a device or service. Yet apparently dmas is expecting everyone to. This is incredibly unfair. Many cannot afford this. You are making this lowest cost highest quality service obsolete or unusable to many clients because they are poor. Dmas should be doing better then this. When you point this out to dmas they tell you to use your landline . Dmas doesn’t understand no one has landlines anymore. Feel like i am stuck in the catch 22 novel being asked to eat chocolate covered cotton balls.
