Ratios are the most valuable asset when it comes to people caring for me. I currently get one on one care with consumer directed care, but EVV will take that away. There should be a premium put on ratios. I have been in many institutions; they are bulk care. The persons working there are there for a paycheck and not because they have an interest in my well being. There were little protections from the people in the homes that I stayed in. Once, I had an elderly man in a nursing home corner me in a room and offer anything I wanted if I came to his room. No staff were around to help me. Once a man showed up naked in my room, and it appeared to be an accident until it happened one too many times. Every place I have been in smelled like urine and feces. The cushions in shared rooms had stains on them and staff sprayed them with fabreeze which didn't help. Once a violent resident backed up their wheelchair to mine and started punching me from behind. Staff laughed and did not come to my aid instantly. Staff had a smoking area right outside the building, so I couldn't open my window and get fresh air. My neighbor next door smoked marijuana in his room, and the staff knew it, because I told them the smoke got in my room and they never did anything to stop it. I don't want to go back. I love my home. Don't make me leave it. My friend cares for me now, and I live with them in their home (they make me feel like it is my home too). **I cost the state the least by being in consumer directed care. i don't want to be in assisted living because of EVV. I understand that noncompliance with evv will result in the "offering of other services". I know that means institutions because there are no other options. Please keep my ratio low and help me stay in my home. Stop evv.
