evv is not for live ins

We now spend time away from those who need care in order to manage this system that doesn't work.  My disabled roommate's live in caregiver wasn't comfortable putting the app on their phone.  I don't blame them!  My nonverbal roommate "consumer/participant" (or whatever you all want to call them these days) doesn't use a phone, so we had to buy one.  The only time we use it is for evv.  Now we have to monitor it to make sure the battery is charged and we are keeping up with data requirements and updates.  That might not seem like much, but in my life with a business to run and my roommate's life as a live caregiver, every second counts.  The app rarely works, so we are taking time away form our roommate to try to get the attendant signed in or out.  If it isn't correct, it takes my volunteer time on the portal or phone to correct it.  Our attendant roommate doesn't get paid for the time they are trying to sign in.  It is not like an office where you can come in and grab a cup of coffee, see what's going on with your boss, and organize your desk before starting a project.  Our attendant LIVES HERE and is ALWAYS ON DUTY.  Yet, they are supposed to ignore important needs/emergencies to manage this faulty evv system.  The system often shorts their time as well.  Everything about this is designed to punish the disabled and the people who work and VOLUNTEER hard, for little or NO pay, to take care of them.  We will lose them to an institution.  Then, everyone will lose.
