General Lee Monument

I have lived in the Richmond area for 58 years. The monuments are and will be part of Richmond VA forever. Untill recently no one was offended by these beautiful works of art. You can not change Richmond's history. People need to learn from the past so they will not repeat it. The current government in Richmond and Virginia are not listening to the majority of people's wishes. What's next the War Memorial? Richmond has many things that need attention. The schools education programs is one. Shootings and drugs is another. Plus there are 20 year olds living in cars, begging for money or stealing. They are breaking into empty houses to live. This is a big problem. They want everything for free! These monuments should get the respect they deserve. These confederate gentlemen were willing to fight for there rights. And I'm willing to fight for the right to keep Monument Avenue unchanged. General Lee was a great man and should be respected by all. Protect our history no matter what.
