ACLU request

This is an outrage.  An affront to history and nothing more than politically correct grandstanding meant to capitalize upon the embarrassing past of our Governor and Atty General.  Monument Ave is one of the jewel of Richmond and is something I make a point of seeing every time I  visit.  And the crowned is the statue of Lee.  That statue and the man it commemorates is as intertwined and central to the history of VA as is the Statue of Washington on the Capitol grounds.  It does not represent any of the derogatory things that the ACLU or that the Mayor charges.  In fact, the Mayor and the ACLU would be far better citizens if they were more like Lee.  This is nothing short of historical and cultural genocide and acting upon their request puts you in the same radical camp as ISIS and the Taliban....so willing to destroy that which offends them regardless of its value to society.  And to add hypocrisy to the mix, claim that it is the name of inclusiveness.  As a Virginian, demonstrate some backbone and like Lee, act to save our state from those who seek to overpower it.
