Comment on Energy Plan

I think it is vital to not only continue to allow solar power generation as it is via residential and commercial collections that provide power through net metering, but to do all we can to encourage this "going green" for all.  Solar power is clean, efficient, renewable, and available.  Even on a cloudy day, there is power to be generated.  This not only creates jobs and provides the power we have come to expect, but it is environmentally responsible.  Nuclear power and fossil fuels will still need to be used to some degree, but solar power can and should be the mainstay of power generation.  Why would we bring harm to our planet and incur cost to extract fossil fuels in excess of the bare necessity?  Solar power provides the basis for energy needs - for free - once a home or business establishes it's array of collection panels.  And those who collect this power are able to share it with the grid through net metering - an essential component of energy sharing.  I respectfully urge you to maintain and expand rooftop solar in Virginia to create well-paying jobs, build clean local energy in our communities and give consumers energy independence, choice and freedom.  We need more jobs and these are the kind of jobs Virginia should support!  Thank you, Denise Kirchner
