Preserve Vital Health and Safety Regulations for Virginia Women

Abortion center regulations are essential for the health and safety of Virginia women and must be maintained, not weakened. If anything, the regulations should be strengthened. We must stop the abortion industry's attempt to have different standards than other healthcare facilities, as they continue their war on women, by  withholding from the patients important information regarding the abortion procedure, not providing followup for women after the procedure, using expired medication, not sterilizing medical equipment, not following proper hand-washing protocols, etc.

The recent suspension of abortions at a Fairfax facility due to 26 health and safety violations proves the regulations work, and must be preserved as is, not watered down. The abortion industry has fought regulation for years. Yet independent inspectors repeatedly find serious deficiencies at these centers, even during announced inspections. Clearly these centers cannot self-regulate. Abortion is not healthcare, because it ends lives instead of healing them. However, since abortion operates under the guise of healthcare, abortion centers must adhere to the regulatory standards of other healthcare facilities. Simply, Virginia women deserve nothing less.

Please continue to maintain or strengthen abortion center regulations--essential regulations for the health and safety of Virginia women. Do not discriminate against women by offering substandard care in abortion facilities.
