Opposed to Only CACREP educated Counselors

I strongly oppose the solely licensing of CACREP attended graduate students. There are too many strongly qualified counseling candidates for licensing that would be mistakenly excluded. What some states do is test the knowledge of the candiate by administering the National Counseling Exam (NCE) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. To exclude other qualified non-CACREP candidates would mistakenly drive up the mental health costs due to simple economy - supply and demand...fewer licensed counselors and the already large population of individuals and families in need for mental health services. I strongly oppose the solely licensing of CACREP attended graduate students. Thank you
