I was a former board member of LCPCM in Maryland. I do not practice in Virginia but I am strongly oppossed to CACREP only requierements.  I am involved in a local professional organization and know many Licensed Virginia counselors that would be negatively affected by this regulation. Also, the public they serve so well will be inpacted. Many lives will be effected in a negative way.  Counselors worked long and hard to get licensure and I cannot see any benefit to this requirement.

Also, please consider that many reputable universities choose not to be CACREP accredited, and there are legitimate reasons for making that decision.
