Yes TRAP!

I will start out by saying that it disturbs me to know that the issue of abortion can be debated. When you get right down to it, abortion is killing babies. I've heard the whole "They don't have souls until they are x months old" arguement, and I could not disagree more strongly with it. First off, who has the proof (or authority, I might add)  to say that the above statement is true? At best, there is a 50% chance that it is true. I don't know about anyone else, but to me, a 50% chance that you are slaughtering innocent souls is 50% higher than the chance I would take.

Even if babies under x months old do not have souls, that is no reason to kill them. Are people in agreement that killing soulless creatures (puppies, kittens, babies under x years old, etc.) is perfectly alright? No! In fact, there is an orginization (PETA) structured purposely to reduce mistreatement (or slaughtering) of soulless creatures. Don't get me wrong; there are certainly scenarios in which it is perfectly alright to kill soulless animals: self defense, hunting, etc. I believe that in those cases, it is alright. But as far as I know, abortion is neither a matter of self defense nor hunting (I should hope not!). Unless they rate human life below that of animals, someone cannot support abortion and PETA. That a whole new level of hypocrisy.

Back to the issue at hand: TRAP. Regardless of its intended purposes, this bill is common sense. Should not potential mothers getting abortions be protected from unecessary diseases, carelessnesses, and infections? I believe they should. If they are determined to get an abortion, it is better done in a safe environment where there is a better chance that only one person has to die: the baby.

I am fairly sure that a large amount of the public fight against this bill will be coming from people that may get abortions in the future. Is killing babies so important to them that they must risk the lives or health of the mothers, just in order to make sure that they will be able to have their baby killed? Not to mention, at the risk of their life/health? It seems to me that this is flawed logic. TRAP helps ensure that the body count will decline.
