I am very concerned about the trend across states that are aimed at shutting down women's health centers, particularly in poverty-stricken areas. The TRAP regulations being proposed look very much like the disastrous plans enacted in places like Texas and North Dakota. If these are enacted, it could force the majority of Va. women's health centers to close. If there are valid reasons for the regulations, there should be a reasonable time-phased plan for implementation. If these are, however, simply expedient methods to discriminate against women's health needs and rights, I cannot voice my opposition strongly enough.
