Dear lawmakers,

As a Virginian, and a mother, I believe women require continued access to safe, legal abortion care. Abortion providers should not be singled out for unwarranted regulations that have nothing to do with the safe delivery of services for women. I urge state lawmakers and Governor McDonnell to only consider new abortion regulations that are based upon evidence-based medical practices that advance the public health. I believe the governor should only pursue regulations that permit the continued availability of first-trimester abortion care. I ask the governor and state lawmakers to stand with Virginia women, and not place their lives and health in danger by pursuing a narrow, political agenda.
