Yes, to allowing ATCs to utilize dry needling

Athletic trainers are educated and trained healthcare professionals who have extensive knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. A Masters degree, certification through the Board of Certification, and a medical license to practice in the state of Virginia is required. Dry needling is utilized to reduce trigger points in musculature, therefore relaxing musculature and decreasing pain which leads to increased mobility. I support making an amendment to allow ATCs with the correct education, certification, and supervision to utilize dry needling.
