I am really disgusted and shocked at what is coming out of my home state's Senate. I feel like our state is being reverted back a dark time and no one has any say in what is being done.

The personhood legislation that passed makes me sick. Why are women not allowed to have the same health care benefits that men have? Why are we discussing birth control issues like we're in the 1950s? This legislation is downright scary and I don't hear anything that the Democrats are doing to try and stop it. Its like these secret bills that are suddenly being passed and we have no say.

Additionally, I hear rumors that our congress wants to lift the ban on purchasing more than one handgun a month. For what purpose does this serve? We live in the state of the Virginia Tech massacre, why do we need more guns on our streets, being sold to people who really shouldn't have them.

I'm almost embarrassed of my state. What can we do to try to stop these extreme, right wing from passing their agenda?
