How Women's Reproductive Rights Correlate with Women's Equality

Please stop this war on women's right to choosing their own route to reproductive healh.  When a women loses her ability to choose when and with whom with to have a family, by limiting access to all methods of contraception, and also access to abortion, she takes a step backwards on her journey towards equality.

Many times, the leaps and bounds women's rights have made since the 1950's have been tied to easier access to all options for family planning.  Today, the glass celing may not be shattered, but there are many more cracks.  This is now possible due to women's ability to control when she starts a family.  In the past, a women would not be trusted to hold a mid-level position or even become a graduate student, because there was the possibility she would become preganant and would be too distracted to continue to give a high level of attention to her work.  Thankfully, this is not longer the case.  There are many women who hold high level positions in both public and private sector jobs.  Women now hold jobs that have been traditionaly male dominated.  Maybe that's what scares those in power in Virginia.  Maybe they're afraid that women are going to finally earn equal pay for equal work in their lifetime.

Please do not let Virginia's government attack women's rights.  Please stop trying to take back the rights women have fought well and hard for.  Don't let the governemnt take away a women's right to plan her family, including when she wants to start it and add to it,  and with whom she wants to start that family with.
