Keep the Regs to Deal with the Outrageous Facts

I am an attorney and deal with factual evidence on a daily basis. I believe that it is imperative to keep the regulations in full force, as the alternative is the subjection of women to a system in which those possessing a medical license in any field who have never performed an abortion can apparently take advantage of a  lucrative windfall with no responsibility to patients.  Dr. Brigham advertises this proposition on the "job opportunities" link which I've copied from the American Women's Services website below.

This is not about emotions.  It is about the outrageous facts. This posting clearly indicates that the physicians working at Virginia facilities currently are not required to be Board certified in any specialty whatsoever, and Dr. Brigham will even train overworked residents to be part-time abortionists! It is also emphasized that there is no on call responsibilty, indicating that complications are not addessed by the primary abortionist.  Read and learn.  Abortion is big business.  Women are being treated as easy targets for supplemental income by greedy medical providers who are attracted by money and lack of responsibility!

"JOB OPPORTUNITIES: Lucrative opportunity for Physician with progressive pro-choice women's centers. No on-call responsibility. Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train. Flexible Schedules to accommodate your needs. Great opportunity for MDs in private practice who wish to supplement their incomes, or for doctors seeking a Full-time lucrative opportunity.

No on-call. Full-time or Part-time. Any specialty. FMGs welcome. Residents welcome. Board eligibility not required. General Practitioners welcome. No experience necessary, we will train. Must be willing to learn. Must have an active license to practice medicine. Must be pro-choice and respectful of women."

I think every woman contemplating an abortion should read this job posting on their potential abortionist's website.  I doubt they would have surgery of ANY other variety by a resident or physician who had never performed the procedure before! PLEASE keep the regulations in force to protect Virginia's unsuspecting women.

Sincerely,

Mary Brett
