Women's Health Center Regulations

To require  health clinics which have been serving the needs of women for over 30 years to now succumb to arbitrarily prescribed regulations to conform to new architectural designs under the guise of security and safety is a ploy to make abortion and reproductive health services unavailable to most Virginians.  The cost of refurbishing existing clinics is prohibitive and would cause most to close.  A better solution would be to move the clinics into public hospitals which already have in place the structural designs required.  Most women, even those in rural areas have reasonable access to a hospital.  Early abortion procedures are very safe to begin with so these "safety" regulations are red herrings for the real purpose of their implementation.

More importantly, these regulations do not take into consideration the confidentiality of the patient's medical treatment and the physician who provides it.  I think I am correct that this is a basic right; physiican/patient confidentiality.  If tested in court, this regulation would not stand up to close scrutiny.
