We oppose DEQ’s proposed variance to allow data center diesel generators to operate continuously during periods of peak electrical load.  Let the data centers come up with alternative solutions working with the power companies.

How come it’s only allowed in Loudoun County and other counties are exempted? Diesel Generators cause both noise and air pollution, and in a county like Loudoun where there’s a majority of families living, we would want the Data Centers to be more responsible.

The DEQ’s mission is to protect and enhance the environment of Virginia to promote the health and well-being of the Commonwealth’s citizens, residents, and visitors in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
