Final Regulation on Access to Abortion and Reproductive Health Care

Thank you for the opportunity to provide comment on this proposed final regulation.  Given that there has been no study that found the current regulations were inadequate in term of safety of abortion procedures or reproductive health care, I would urge you to retain the regulations prior to the emergency regulations.

Current abortion providers claim that most will not be able to meet the final regulation requirements and that there is no need for a higher level of regulatory requirements.  If this is true then the net effect of making the emergency regulation the final regulation will only mean that women in VA will either have to go out of state or only have access to "back alley" providers.  In other words, the irony of this final regulation will mean that women in VA will have less access to safe and effective reproductive health care and necessary abortions and will likely result in more deaths and permanent health problems.

Is this really what you want for the women of VA and if so shame on you.

Respectfully,

Gwen Paulson
