Support RGGI

Virginia's participation in RGGI is underway and is already producing important benefits to the Commonwealth.  There is no alternative proposal to obtain those benefits.  Without that, it is unfair to attempt to cancel our participation.

Some opposed to RGGI refer to its costs as an unfair tax, failing to recognize that any other source of funding for these projects would also likely come from citizens, whether as a direct tax or in some other way.

The General Assembly had to act for Virginia to join RGGI.  How is it possible to change that decision without action by the General Assembly?

We've got to make the kinds of investments that the funding Virginia is receiving from RGGI allows.  We'll likely have to make additional investments, as well.

I join the other citizens who are asking that this attempt to disrupt Virginia's participation in RGGI cease.
