I write to urge Governor Youngkin not to withdraw the state from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Climate change is very real, and we need to use every tool possible to help prevent catastrophic consequences. The RGGI is one free-market tool that's already proved very effective in this effort, generating a lot of money that can be used for projects to increase energy efficiency and stave off flooding, projects that might not otherwise be undertaken, projects that help some of the people who will be hardest hit by climate change. Please don't close this opportunity, please don't discard this tool! It's critical that we do everything we can to mitigate the changes that are already frighteningly clear!
