Proposed rules for voiding absentee ballots on the basis of such unreasonable criteria as sloppy handwriting of a signature could jeopardize the voting rights of anyone. Any number of things can cause a shaky or less legible signature, including changes in one's health,age- related shakiness, irregular writing surface, or writing while a vehicle is in motion. Our Constitution was created to give rights, not take them away. These proposed changes would disinfranchise the elderly and the infirm or just someone in a hurry.
This appears to be a clear attempt to influence the outcome of elections to favor one party over another and is a violation of our democratic principles.
