RGGI Makes Sense for Virginia

I urge the Governor and his administration to keep Virginia in RGGI. RGGI uses economic and market forces to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, making it much more efficient than other tax alternatives to discourage greenhouse gases. As the southernmost state in RGGI and a coastal state, Virginia will feel the negative impacts of global warming more than any other state in RGGI, and we benefit more from the RGGI emissions reductions than any of the other partners as well. I hope that Virginia will withdraw its plan to leave RGGI and choose to stay in RGGI and keep investing in Virginia's future.
