Keep Virginia in RGGI

Dear Gov. Youngkin,

As the leader of the Environmental Stewardship program in my Christian church in Fairfax Station, VA, I know how important it is for Virginia to remain in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

RGGI is an important component for our state to provide funds to those affected by energy burdens and severe flooding while also providing incentives for energy providers  to act on climate and reduce Virginia’s carbon emissions.

Our church has taken many steps to reduce our carbon emissions. We are a living testament to our faith.

Jesus Christ asks us to care for those who are in need, those who are marginalized, and those who  cannot advocate for themselves. God implores us to care for creation, the first manifestation of God and the planet on which we are able to survive as a species.

The RGGI helps many people in Virginia to live in the safety of a weatherized home with emergency resources when the need arises. It helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which are destroying our planet. It is our christian duty to care for all people and RGGI is one important way that we can live into our faith.

As a fellow christian, I implore you to keep Virginia in the RGGI.

We need you to help keep weatherized housing and flood preparedness assistance programs funded in our state.
