Stay in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative

Virginia should stay in the RGGI. Climate change is real and Virginia's coastal regions are highly vulnerable to rising sea levels. Tangier Island is the "canary in the coal mine."

We should not trust a scientifically illiterate governor, with scientific advisors from the coal industry, to make sound, unbiased decisions about environmental policy. The governor should ask for advice from the majority of climate scientists, not from a small group of pro-fossil fuel lobbyists. Renewable energy is the future and Virginia can join a regional alliance, leading the way to a brighter future, instead of hanging on to old fashioned energy technology. Climate change should not be a political issue. Flooding doesn't care if you are a Republican or a Democrat.

The only way to combat a huge problem like climate change is by working together.  "Live together or die alone."
