Keep RGGI

RGGI is a market-based way to efficiently reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a cost-effective manner.  It would be penny-wise and pound foolish to pull out.  The savings on our utility bills are small.  The revenue from RGGI in funding flood resilience and low-income energy efficiency far outweigh the few dollars savings in energy bills.  For just $2.39 in average increased energy costs we get:

  1. Reduce carbon emissions.  RGGI helps VA do its part in mitigating climate change.
  2. Flood assistance.
  3. Low-income energy efficiency.

In the long run RGGI will save energy users money and speed the transition to renewable energy.
