Do Not Repeal RGGI

I am writing out of deep concern that we are about to take a HUGE step backward if Gov Youngkin's request to remove us from RGGI is acted upon.  This absurd move puts at risk a program that works to remove greenhouse gas emissions, makes our air cleaner and more breathable for our citizens and helps do our part in putting our planet on a better trajectory to avoid increasing climate disasters.   This program is helping low-income families make their homes more energy efficient as well as providing funds for the prevention of recurrent flooding which is a problem in many parts of Virginia including in my home base of Alexandria.   What earthly reason could cause us to remove ourselves from this?

I would much rather see the Governor take leadership on utility rate reform.  Dominion's monopoly makes it even more important for these codes to prevent risky and unnecessary fossil fuel power plants that pass costs on to customers with negative benefit to the environment.

If the Air Pollution Control Board is to live up to it's name, it should not support the Governor's request.

Thank you for your attention.
