RGGI

With the disastrous effects of the recent hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Florida taking lives and creating billions of dollars in loses to homeowners and businesses it is not time to it is no time to end a program that can help reduce or stall climate change. The governor's purely political act playing to his climate change denier base and energy companies that funded his campaign is horrifying. That he would risk the future of the planet and our children is beyond comprehension.

This program is already reducing greenhouse gas emissions which helps improve public health especially for those like me and my family members who deal with respiratory issues year round.

In addition the program generates income to the state that has helped create new, affordable, energy efficient housing in regions where it is desperately needed.

The program also fund community flood preparedness, something the people of Florida and Puerto Rico wish they had more of. Virginia is not immune from hurricanes and other weather-related flooding and this program can help mitigate some of the worst effects of such events.

Do not succumb to pressure from special interests and the politicizing of the public's health.  Virginians need the RGGI funds. Every bit makes a difference.
