I am writing to oppose the current administration's proposal to remove Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Besides the fact that this is a law that cannot be simply wiped off the books because our governor opposes it, it boggles the mind to ponder why anyone would want to get rid of a program that works:  It helps low-income families lower their energy costs, and it provides communities in flood-prone areas with what they need to prevent devastating damages, including loss of life. It works to reduce air pollution, thereby improving our health. What does the administration propose to replace it? I fear that those currently in charge see the program as a political ploy to undermine the energy giants in our commonwealth and country instead of what it is--a program that helps people, and it's working! "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"  Thank you!
