Breaking our agreement

I urge the Air board to protect our participation in RGGI. Virginia's participation in RGGI is a successful effort to reduce pollution while directly helping communities on the front lines. RGGI has raised more than $370 million thus far. Those funds help thousands of struggling families reduce energy bills and increase energy efficiency. It also helps provides funding for localities across the state to prepare for and protect against increasingly devastating floods. As people of conscience, it is essential to support initiatives like RGGI that help us achieve our goal to address the impacts of climate change and reach carbon-free energy by 2050. This is attempt by the Governor to pull out of the agreement is another example of short sighted stupidity. It makes no sense and is only yet another ploy to.make tons of money for rich people who don't need it. Greed
